Welgevonden Game Reserve is in a malaria-free area, so no prophylactic medication is required.
The nearest hospital is approximately 45 minutes from the main gate. For emergencies, helicopter evacuation can be arranged.
All rangers are trained in first aid, and the lodge maintains comprehensive first aid supplies.
Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or dietary requirements prior to arrival.
Remember to bring sufficient supplies of any personal medications, as there are no pharmacies nearby.
The lodge area is enclosed by an electric fence for your safety, allowing free movement within the lodge grounds.
Never approach wild animals, even within the fenced lodge area.
After dark, guests must be escorted by staff when moving around the lodge.
Always follow your ranger's instructions regarding behaviour on game drives and bush walks.
Pools are unfenced; children must be supervised at all times.
Emergency procedures are explained during orientation and displayed in each suite.
Apply sunscreen regularly and stay hydrated, particularly during summer months.
Inform us of any food allergies or restrictions. Our kitchen can accommodate most dietary requirements with advance notice.
In case of any health concerns during your stay, please immediately inform any staff member who will alert management to assist you.
