Our open 4x4 safari vehicles are specially designed for optimal game viewing and photography, providing comfort and safety while bringing you close to nature's most spectacular moments.
Departing at 6:00 AM, our morning game drives capture the wilderness as it awakens. This is prime time for predator sightings as lions, leopards, and other nocturnal hunters are often still active. The soft morning light creates perfect conditions for photography, while the cooler temperatures make it an ideal time for wildlife activity.
Morning drives include a coffee stop at a scenic location, allowing you to stretch your legs while enjoying refreshments in the bush as the day begins around you.
Our afternoon game drives depart at 4:00 PM and extend into the early evening, offering the magical experience of watching the African sunset while on safari. As daylight fades, different species become active, providing opportunities to observe behaviour not seen during morning drives.
The afternoon drive includes a sun downer stop, where you'll enjoy your choice of beverages and light snacks while watching the spectacular colours of the African sunset paint the Waterberg sky.
Your safari experience begins the moment you arrive at Welgevonden Main Gate. The transfer from the gate to the lodge is conducted in our open safari vehicles and serves as an additional game drive experience (separate from the scheduled morning and evening game drives). This transfer offers your first opportunity to spot wildlife while our friendly, knowledgeable rangers introduce you to the reserve.
