An Exclusive Private Game Lodge


Sekala Private Game Lodge is an exclusive lodge within the Welgevonden Game Reserve, which is home to the Big Five and is found within the Waterberg Biosphere, just two hours north of Pretoria. Guests look forward to uninterrupted early morning sun rise vista off the main deck, while having a coffee to awaken the senses. The bush comes alive on your early morning game drives and it is not uncommon to see Lion or Elephant just a stones throw from the game viewing vehicle going through their early morning routines.


The lodge is self-catering, on the basis that guests bring all their food and drinks for the duration of their stay and our helpful kitchen staff will assist in preparing all your meals. For those who prefer to prepare their own food, you will find yourself at home in our fully equipped kitchen with staff on hand to ensure it all goes smoothly. A professionally catered option is available on request.



Facilities

Nestled in Welgevonden bush, Sekala has two main lodges, five separate en-suite double chalets which sleep two adults in each. The executive family suit which sleeps family of four available on request. Guided game drives by Sekala's own game ranger, boma dinners under the stars, self catering kitchen, bird watching,
2 rock swimming pools, conference room and facilities, private bar, library and lounge area at the main lodge, private outdoor shower in every chalet, private helipad, hide and waterhole. Linen, baths towels and soaps are included.

Location

Sekala Private Game Lodge is situated in the Welgevonden Game Reserve, bordering the Marakele National Park, in the Waterberg Mountain Range, Limpopo Province. It is approximately 250km north of Johannesburg, in a malaria-free area. There are two airstrips in the reserve making access easy.

Useful Information

Remember to bring: Camera, binoculars, bird and wildlife reference books, a hat and sunscreen lotion. Cool clothing for summer and warm for winter are advised as the region is subject to sudden weather changes, particularly in the mountains.

Seasonal info: Summer (October – March) temperatures range from min of 14°C to a max of 36°C. The wet season extends from October to March with hot days and warm nights. Winter temperatures range from min of 2°C to a max of 22°C. The dry season extends from May to September with warm days and cold nights.
